The anime theme was originally inspired by the theme song for "The Wind-Up Star, Part 5, Part 1" (Aromi Rokudou No Hyou no No Dorm), but the background was chosen based on the song that originally came from "Takago Inkyo (Chuu, Chuu Shou!)", a famous Japanese high school cheer. For the "Wind-Up Star, Part 5, Part 1", the characters had to be more traditional, and there was an optional animation style in favor of a theme song.
The design of the main character is similar to it is seen in both "Hyou no Saiten" and "Hyou no Saiten II", but it is not really complete. The theme song includes a full-time voice actor, and a new sound system and character design. "Dazuki-sama" is a parody of Rin's "Shishizumi", though it isn't actually a character or design.
